Riu Palace Peeps

I know that a lot of people dress to the "9's" at the palace, but does anyone who's been there know the specific "dress code" at dinner for the gentlemen?

Starting to think about packing! (even though we're more than a month away)

Big Smoke: Long pants (Dockers/Haggars are just fine and some men wear jeans but they look out of place) and collared shirt (short or long sleeve - polo/golf shirts fine) for all restaurants for dinner. For 2 weeks I usually wear a pair of slacks on the plane down and pack 2 extras. Breakfast and lunch you can wear whatever as long as top is covered. Never saw any speedos in the Don Julian but many wore boxer type bathing suits. Women in bathing suits with a top cover.
Some have said they've worn shorts to El Patio which is an open air restaurant near the beach when it was very warm in the evening.
Our daily routine was shorts and tshirt for breakfast, change to bathing suits, change back to shorts and tshirts for lunch (we always ate at Don Julian just for the selections available), back to bathing suits for afternoon. About 4:00 back to room shower, change to what we were wearing that night, drink on the patio/balcony, then down to the courtyard for cocktail, at 6:00 David the piano player starts in the lobby lounge so have to have a drink there before dinner also, after dinner back out to the courtyard for drinks over the course of the rest of the evening and watching the entertainment. And unlike some resorts, you don't have to go to the bar to order your drink. Waiters take your order at your table and bring them to you.
Have fun! Less than 6 months for us.
Bob
