Stew,
gotta tell you man, hubbie and I took your advice on HC, and OMG it was THE BEST meal we ate the whole 2 weeks we were there. Hubbie was upset we ran out of time to make a second trip before coming home. I even drank a beer while we were there, and I really don't like beer at all, but it went so well with the food! Thanks so much for the recommendation

...it's the only place that Susie and I can go a COUPLE of times in ONE DAY.

Eat upon my arrival, run some errands then head back for takeout.

It's an illness...but a good illness.

I hope you guys will have time to join me there for lunch. I would love to see Susie again and I would love to meet you. I know I can sometimes irritate Susie (but irritate in a GOOD way ), but I do so adore her!!!

I printed off the beginning part of this thread that explains what you need to order, and put it in my wallet. Last May I was there placing my order, and an American man was working and asked to see my piece of paper. I told him where I got it, and he took it back to the kitchen to show it to everyone. It really made their day. There was a couple eating at the same time that had read about this place on the internet. They were staying in Cancun, but rode the bus to Playa just to eat there.

2 weeks we got there at 6:20pm and finished about 7. I asked the owner about about closing at 7, he said 7ish, sometimes more like 9.

Jeff and I hit this place last week and I thought he was going to have a carnivore attack. We loved it. I especially liked the really simple menu - 2 items, take your pick! I was looking or your name on the walls there Stew and couldn't see any, bring your pen with you next time and leave your mark.

Great recommendation, thanks Stew!

We got there at 6 PM on a Sunday night...
When we left, they were still seating people and going strong...
BTW - we preferred the Importada to the Nacional, and I added a piece (2 halves) of Chorizo sausage.

On 2 separate occasions...

You know the owner/manager? The guy that looks a little like F. Murray Abraham? He and some of the other waiters recognize me now, but I don't think they have any idea how much business I shuffle their way... That's okay, I'm just glad to share such a wonderful place with my RFFs!

I'll try to remember to bring a pen next time! (And maybe a printout from this thread!)
