Okay, I know basically where you mean. I loved that fruit stand, it is right on the corner, no? A small but packed fruit stand, with the main entrance facing west towards the highway. I even knew the name, but it now escapes me. It had terrific produce for great prices. When we did our shopping at Chedraui, we'd always then pull up to that stand to get our produce. Awesome roma tomatoes.

Yall keep saying "meat". What kind of meat? Lamb, pork, armadillo, those big lizards that run around all over the place, or are you talking about good ole beef?

It's called Marsan, and is almost like the "Dac" of the south side, except Dac has more specialty/imported items.

See A', I told you!!! Heh, heh, heh...

That stuff is like CRACK!!! Did you have it with the roasted onion? I actually tried to reproduce it last night for dinner. Didn't do TOO bad, but nothing like the real thing...

If youre wanting to get it to go... There is a nice tortilla factory RIGHT across the street.

I will update when I return, but so far this is my best meal in Playa and some of the best meat Ive ever had.

(Thank you god, for giving me a mouth!)
Just to make a small correction...English is spoken very well here and is a great place to get meat raw to go or have it cooked right on the spot....Great Baked potatos as well......Good recomendation Stewart!

Point well taken. That review was written after my first trip there. Having eaten there many times since, I've realized that you are right, english is not a problem (we're even sending my gringo inlaws there in a few weeks!).

Nothing against some of the finer restaurants in Playa, but when it comes to flavor, there are few places in Playa (or the world!) which have more flavorful meat!

Great place......HC's arrachera grills up really well with some Rudy's BBQ sauce.... it also helps if your grill is located on a secluded beach

HCs has without doubt the best meat in Playa but I always buy the meat and take it home to cook . It is just to smokey and the traffic fumes don´t help at all .

Interesting effects of what eating at this places does to the customers.
I passed in front this morning and the name is Super Carnes HH de Monterrey. Not HC!!!

Look for a white rectangle sign with an oval in red and letters in white. Pics later when I can crop and resize them (system doesn't allow 4.5 Mb pics).

Just ate there last night for the second time. Both waiters have had enough English to understand us and were the friendliest waiters I´ve come across so far. Also, best meal in Playa so far. They close around 7 unless it´s really busy. Worth checking out
