Chaza
Chaza will not bother you for timeshares. Our experience at Xpu-ha was that after check-in, they will assign someone to give you an orientation of the resort (which is helpful). I can't remember if they arrange the tours or not, but they will give you the information. At the end of the presentation is when they hit you with the special opportunity
to get a massage if you go to the timeshare. The advantage of being at Xpu-ha was that we had to go to Aventura for the timeshare and it was easy to say that we simply didn't want to leave Xpu-ha. If you don't want to do it, just be polite and firm and they will leave you alone. I think they respect respectful honesty that you simply are not interested. They will hit you up for a timeshare at the beginning and then leave you alone the rest of the time. We did go to Aventura one day and made the mistake of asking a timeshare person (didn't realize he was one) where the gift shop was because I needed a bandaid. We got the spiel then because they realized we were not staying at Aventura and they might be able to hook us. At that time, they were located between the lobby and the spa entrance. Again, just be polite and firm and they will leave you alone. The Chaza desk is different. You can rent cars through them and book other tours. Chaza is a separate entity from Palace (sort of), so they don't care if you do the timeshare thing. We found them to be helpful. |
