Yes, the EDR and the Valentin are close to each other, maybe about a mile apart. The EDR is actually closer to Puerto Morelos but the Valentin is actually in the Playa del Secreto area.

Thing is, the Valentin will probably cost about the same amount as the EDR, there's not going to be much saved by staying at a resort other than where the wedding is being held - and you will have to pay for a day pass to get into the EDR anyway (and that should be about $100/pp) plus a taxi ride to and from.
