Emigrating to Playa from the U.K.

Hi all again, my wife (to be )and i are hopefully moving to Playa next spring but we could really do with some advice form anyone who has moved there from G.B. for example immigration, visa`s where to go in the UK for information.
As you can see we have a dream but need help with the practical stuff;
Its all sooooo exciting

Here's some basics:

Have a look at the Mexican Consulate's web site or ring them (they're in London).

Check out Visas etc with regard to employment, setting up your own business. You have to pay to set a company up and you will be required to have a significant bank balance. Most jobs here are tourist based and preference will be given to Mexicans. Salaries for basic jobs are low.

Learn Spanish.

Shipping will cost you about £55 per 20kg box plus the Custom broker's fee and any taxes. Don't even consider bring furniture, unless you want to pay more in shipping than it costs to buy it here.

Sell and give away everything you don't really need. Auctions, car boots, charity shops, friends etc.

Have plenty of reserve funds to last you at least 6 months with no other income.

Watch the flight costs to get the best cost. It can vary from £200 to £600 each.
