I've heard a little about the new copacabana in playa. has anyone been there that would like to share any insight as to the quality of the resort? we are planning a trip for our first anniversary and we don't have any idea which hotel/resort we should stay.

Don't know about quality, but it is NOT in Playa. It is about a 25 minute drive down south. If you are looking to do anything besides hang out with the other guests, it may be inconvenient.

We planned to stay at Copacabana July20th with 3 other families and when we got there, they sent somewhere else in Playa that was not on the beach! So far we have not been compensated for the downgrade and hassle it costs us. It was in the middle of no where and 30 minutes from Playa Del Carmen.I recommend the IBEROSTAR.

The Copacabana is on Xpu-Ha Beach which happens to be one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen and I have seen many. Therefore, great location for beach lovers but not good for people that like the city life and shopping etc.

can anyone tell me what the telephone number (either local number or toll free) for the Copacabana All inclusive Hotel?
If I did stay at Xpu-Ha Beach (Copacabana resort) and wanted to shop, is there a bus or some other form of transportation? Tours to the mayan sites provided by resort? |

Hello Munichchick
I had read in another forum that they close the beach down at 6:00pm and make you hang out by the pool. Is this true? Also, how was the food and drinks? I have stayed at the Iberostar in Playa and in the Dominican and the food was great. The drinks were domestic drinks which for me is not a big deal(I drink anything) but wife likes other drinks that are not beer. In the Dominican I seemed to struggle with getting the bartenders to make me frozen drinks. Are they friendly? Thanks... |
