Hey... in all seriousness, Bumper did have a great idea that he had shared with the Organizing Committee, as he stated:
I've got a few ideas, but being totally devoid of artistic ability, I'm afraid I won't be taking part in this competition. (If you'd care to drop me a PM, I'd be pleased to share my half-baked ideas with you.) So, if you've got a knack for taking a notion and putting it to paper in the way that Bump so eloquently put it: Nothing too elaborate, or involved, or detailed - why make reproduction a problem, but something unusual and singular. Anyone care to give it a try? We'd love to see what this talented group of peeps might come up with. And your efforts will not go unrewarded. I quote Mr. Bump once again as he describes what the winnahh will have to gain: Recognition, notoriety, the Peep Fest Organizing Committee's undying gratitude, and a prize (Precisely what that prize will be is yet to be determined, but we guarantee it will be unique and memorable) I think what he's trying to say as far as the prize goes is that it could quite possibly be something that we're too embarrassed to award in a public setting or perhaps something that we would never think to leave as a leftover in the hotel room upon check-out (i.e. we haven't got a clue.... could be something really kewl like an 8x10 glossy of the donkowmel from the Yal-Ku Lagoon!!) Put simply, GO FER IT!! |

Man, where have I been?! I love fun jobs such as this (especially when they pay so well
). July 15th?! Whew...that's tough for me! I'll do my best though. You know, you're putting me to work while I am in Playa, right?! I haven't forgotten about you, Shammy, or about our project, Michael! Shammy, you need to be giving me some details...and take all the time you need!! |

Well, three folks have PM'ed me so far to find out what our original notion was for a design, and I passed along our thoughts - yes, we do occasionally have them, though they often die of lonliness. Anyone else interested is welcome to do the same. In addition, a couple of other ideas occur to me. Maybe a graphic of the traditional "flasher", holding open his raincoat to reveal "Peep Fest 2006", or somebody peering through a keyhole. I found some interesting looking stuff in Google Images under flashers, or peeping, that might provide a starting point. Just a thought. Huh?? What?? Eh?? Never mind.

Good job of kicking this contest off, Bumper! We have been out of the loop here too much recently and are looking to get back into it and moving forward on a bunch plans soon.
I would like to add that any talented peep who can combine something "Playa del Carmen", something "Peeps" and the words "Peep Fest 2006" can probably win this contest, in our opinion, without any particular credentials being required. We want to see logos!!! Not resumes... Have fun with this folks! We look forward to the entries! |

Check it out... Peep Travelogue - The world's most traveled Peep... thought it might help get those creative juices flowing. This Peep is quite the world traveler... Costa Maya and Cozumel are just a few of the places it's visited.

All you aspiring arteeests giving this little project some thought? Salvador chose not to Dali on this competition? Is Picasso off somewhere bending clocks? Grant Wood wouldn't? Grandma Moses has run off with Grandpa Jones? Holbein is a hold out? Michelangelo took another ceiling painting job? Da Vinci is diffident? Whistler is away visiting his mother? There's no reluctant Renoir out there? No Go-for-it Goya? van Gogh is van gone? Titian is missin'? Is Blake on a break? Singer-Sargent is silent? The opportunity is there, but Cezanne isn't seizin'? Can't get Gauguin goin'? Constable is arrested? Gainsborough is a lose? Somebody waiting for us to put up some Monet? Afraid to take Matisse into your own hands? Rubens has gone for a sandwich? Tintoretto has turned into a tinhorn? Still lots of time to stir those creative juices and send us your thoughts, Peep Fest fans.

Flowing Juices...
Inspiration if a funny thing...it comes when you least expect it. (read: never when you want it to)
I've thought over the various design ideas, and as of yet, nothing has struck me smack on the head...I'll continue to keep it on the burner.Isn't it funny how simple, just isn't that simple?? Hope I make the deadline! Tina
