Email Address IB Tucan
Hi there..
anyone know the email address to reach the IB Tucan? We have 3 rooms booked for July, one of them being a kids room and we would like to at least try for getting them right beside each other. I tried posting on trip advisor and no one messaged me. I have been a lurker on here for many many months (getting lots of great info! thanks!) watching the webcam daily, asking a couple of silly questions.. so figure you fine folks would have an answer! thanks so much, i am way to excited to concentrate at work anymore as i am counting down the days! I'm kidding Kev! Their plane isn't due to land until pretty late and I somehow doubt they'll come home and turn on their computer to send me an update that night! Looks like you're going to blaze the path and wing it...unless someone else chimes in who has recently returned! |

When we stayed at the IB Quetzal in mid-May, the construction at the Riu Yucatan was a pain in the butt in the early morning when I wanted to quietly contemplate life on the balcony. Front-end loaders and dump trucks and jackhammers..... what a pleasant way to start the day - all about 40 feet away just over the fence.
If you're booked in Tucan and they actually PUT you in Tucan, it won't be a problem. (We were booked for Tucan but were put in Quetzal.) If you get put in Quetzal, I'd put up a stink, especially if your room is near the beach area. But... it's been a month since we were there, so who knows..... perhaps the construction and accompanying noise is finished?? This is why we never travel without a white noise machine. I brought it mainly to drown out those birds that start hollering at day break. Never dreamed it would also be helping to drown out construction noise. Thus it didn't bother us in the room with the doors shut - only while sitting out on the balcony. P.S. The construction seemed to start around 6:45 each weekday morning. |

In other words, it's a constant noise that is used to mask other noises. Sort of like running a fan. You don't hear the noisy neighbor upstairs who gets up an hour before you do, since the white noise machine masks the stomping around, shower water running, etc. That was my first reason for getting the machine. And we LOVE it. It sounds like "home" when we travel. Here's a link to a site that sells them. I bought the Marcona TSC-330. Took a little getting used to at first, but now if I forget to turn it on, the silence is deafening! White Noise Machine Edit: Was just looking over the site and it reminded me to say that it also helps if your bedmate snores. David doesn't wake me up with his snoring half as much as he did before I got it.
