Just looked at the web sites. It is just devastating.
My prayers go out to all in London, and everyone affected by this horrible act.

Yes it's horrible. Will it ever stop?

This is war. The extremist’s war. To understand we need to look at it from the outside. These people are angry. They hate Europe and the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><ST1:pUS</ST1:p. They have not respect for human life. Even not in their own country. Do they have a reason? Yes. That is not difficult to see. Many poor countries have been tortured by Europe and the <ST1:pUS for many years.

Unfortunately I have to agree.

They will not stop, and this is a war no one (the US/Britain) can win. Ever. They are in cells all the world, if one is found and shut down, there are angry young men lined up in training camps itching to take their place. It won't be over until foreign policy is changed. But I can't see that happening.

It is so horrible and sad...there is a guy who worked here, he quit and he and his wife moved to London, she is a nurse and got a job there....they just flew this past weekend and before moving out to Bath they were spending a week in London. I know their hotel is near Russell Square and a couple bombs went off near there...I hope they were sleeping in and not out already this morning.

Just stupid, the whole war thing!! Hey, what about every country for their own, concentrate on taking care of those in your country and maybe the whole world would be a better place. I know it ain't gonna happen, but it's a nice thought heh?? Just think of the money saved on war spent toward things in each country that would make a difference. A war over 'oil', maybe we could have developed a car that doesn't run on oil/gas instead. If it gets to she shores of Playa I'll be really pissed. Another thing, I don't think these terrorist's God really
tells them to bomb and kill. Their just using that as an excuse...pussies all of 'em. Maybe we should just nuke 'em all- our "God" told us it was the right thing to do. Yeah right! My .02 worth - back to lying in the sun and making drinks!

I don't think these type of things will ever stop and it has to do with their own beliefs. Whether it be disagreements over religion, oil, freedom, pick a topic some people believe so strongly that they will do anything to fight for what they believe in. Even if we feel they are crazy, sick or whatever all they see is their cause. I don't think there is a way to stop the violence. Just my opinion.

You are absolutely right, they are extremists. Nothing to do with the real Muslim faith at all.

Al Quaeda is to Muslims what David Koresh and his cronies are to Christianity.

We were living and working in London for the last 2 years. My wife and our work colleagues took these routes daily. We had many security alerts and cancelled trains because of suspicious packages - you get used to it.

My brother was doing training in London but thankfully he's at home today.

Bombs and bomb threats are nothing new to us. We had the IRA scum for years, who gathered funds from misguided people from civilised countries.

True to form the British public are calmly picking themselves up and queuing for treatment as if at a supermarket - we wouldn't give them the pleasure or importance of affecting us even in the most extreme circumstances.

Our dead will be buried with dignity, not clawed at and displayed by a mob in the street.

It may have been Arabs, G8 protestors or UK based brainwashed Muslims betraying the country that helps and protects them. Either way, they'll never win and we'll continue to squash them like bugs.

I have not been able to work a lot this morning. I am supposed to go to London next week with a friend. I called her and she was already watching TV. Today I don't really feel like going there. Shortly before I went home I saw an announcement that all my colleagues in London and those who travelled there today are safe. At least that was good news.

Still, this morning a lot of things came up again. First of all the WTC-crash. Wasn't there (watched on CNN though) but had to go to NY a few days later. Still had a hard time being there and it was very hard to decide to actually fly over. Next thing which came back when the news became more and more clear this morning was March 11 last year. I had come back from Madrid only 36 hours before the bombs exploded there and I knew that my friend used that train line every morning. When I rang her on her mobile she didn't answer. She called me back in the afternoon and told me that she had been in a train between the two in which bombs exploded. She told me a little bit of what had happened that morning and things she had seen. It was horrible. So this all came back this morning and I guess I have a small impression of what the people in London must have gone through this morning as I clearly remember what my friend told me from the bombs in Madrid.

This is just madness...

Just to let you know that I am home. It took me an hour and 10 minutes to walk to Paddington from Shaftesbury Avenue.

There were no cars or buses on the roads and most of the shops were closed. The strangest sight I saw was the empty shoeboxes outside Footlocker where people were buying trainers to walk home in.

I don't think I'll be going to work tomorrow.

Heartfelt prayers for all those with friends and family in London. And Stacy, hoping you get home soon. My oldests son's best friend has been living and working in London for the past 8 months so I am saying a special prayer that he is well away from the havoc these idiots have once again created.

As long as there are fanatics like that in the world, I don't think we have much hope that this kind of thing will ever end.

Edit: Missed your post Stacy that you were already home. Glad your okay.

The news media won't like the dignified funeral part. They prefer a good Palestinian coffin tipping frenzy. I hope everyone watches and learns from the Brits how civilized, courageous people deal with adversity and the enemies of democracy. For those who think that most muslims are moderates, look at their countries and culture and how they treat their women as cattle without any rights. Stuck in the middle ages.

The news of the bombings was the first thing I heard about this morning when I turned on the radio. I am so sick of hearing about stuff like this, and yet it is becoming too much a part of modern society to ever expect it to completely go away. I suppose the fact that none of the extremist's terror has just about ever changed anything (except in the Spain bombings) is not the point for them. These poor young men (and occasional women) are duped into thinking that these barbaric acts of cowardice and thoughtless violence are their tickets into heaven and that their god is well pleased with these actions. Until that line of thinking, which is rejected by the vast majority of Muslims I might add, is repudiated these 'events' will continue.

My prayers go out to the British people, and the Londoners in particular. Having lived in very close proximity to a terror event (Columbine High School) on a much smaller level, I recall my own thoughts and feelings and how surreal it feels like when these things occur. It's not a thing I like to remember, but it's now a part of my history, just as today's bombings are now indelibly stamped in the minds of all of the British.

Blessings and peace to all London..

Dave

I don't quite agree with you. There are many Muslims, and whom many are great people. Not all people think like us in the western world. And we should be glad for that.

Name some muslim democracies where women are afforded equal rights and not treated as property. There might be one or two out of dozens.

Thor, I hope Norway ever gets attacked. And I was unaware that the U.S. tortures poor countries, can you give me some facts about that?
The extremists have already taken control of Spain and France. The U.S. and Great Britain are not going to take this lying down. When they come knocking on your door what will your country do?
These people just Hate! They don't need a reason to kill. They hate you and anyone else, including the peace loving Muslims, who don't think like them.

I feel for the people of London and the U.K. and I am thankful for their support against terrorism.
I for one, am proud to be an infidel!
