Happy birthday little turtles

A year ago today was my best "vacation event" ever.

It happened in HMB and I have some pictures at my brother's blog where I am guest-blogging while he is enjoying volcanoes and earthquakes in Costa Rica.

Ready. Set. AWWWW!

Cool!!! Love your pics!

We were in Akumal once and sat out on the beach one night and saw a mama turtle come up and lay her eggs, I have to say that was one of my best experiences in Mexcio!

Thanks for sharing! For me, seeing those turtles at Akumal Bay was one of the highlights of all the vacations I've ever taken. It was THRILLING!!

Waah!! Little tortugitas.......love em to death.
I was present twice when some hatched- both times visiting at the former Robinson Club. They always did a great job of protecting the eggs that had been laid on their property. The first time some hatched they had been taken up, counted and whatnot for some preservative program.....so after all that was done each one of us got one placed on our open hand, gave it a name and let it go. Mine was a tad bit confused and started running for the trees instead of the water a few times. But in the end he made it.......bet he is a confused professor of the ocean nowadays.
