Those tow-in surfers are nothing short of amazing....isn't the biggest wave ever ridden like over 60 feet or something?
There is a really great documentary called 'Step Into Liquid' that featured tow in surfing in huge surf... http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0308508/ also we saw another documentary about surfing at this atoll in the Pacific where the waves get amazingly big too. The Cortes Bank. http://www.surfline.com/mag/pulse/20..._19_cortes.cfm What I want to know is... so many people have died in the surf from being inexperience and from the weight of the water snapping their necks or hitting their heads on the ocean floor...if a surfer falls and one of these monster 60 foot waves lands on top of him- how can they possibly live? ![]() |

I got another one for you guys/gals: Wedge here in Southern Cali. http://www.surfline.com/video/window...lvideopop4.htm Well at Wedge you can touch the bottom if you are standing right in front of the wave as it about to break . he, he ^ that is why people are in awe. Broken necks are not rare on that beach. ![]() <!-- / message --> Last edited by Montego : 07-08-2005 at 06:34 PM. |
