More Good News!!!

Our friend Alex Diaz from the Reef Club said he'd send pictures as soon as he gets out. Still has phone, no cell or power yet.

His house (in town) and neighbors have done just fine, no real damage anywhere up and down the neighborhood -There are taking off the boards. There are branches in the street and some stories where branches fell just right on something and it broke but nothing substantial so far. Not much rain fell either so no real flooding. We'll have more as they move around!

They are still limiting refunds/credits for departures through today.
I'm also scheduled to depart Wed, July 20 for Playa...can't decide

Tankah/Xel-ha took a direct hit from the eyewall, I've got e-mails in to a couple of people in Tankah, but don't know when I'll hear from them. I imagine Lalo will have alot of repairs to keep him busy for the next couple of weeks

We are concerned about our Condo which is in Los Lirios complex in Playacar Phase 2, if anyone has any info regarding that area, we would love to hear it. So glad to hear that there were no casualties!!

MSNBC just had a report from Playa...they showed a street that led down to the beach, I saw a palapa standing! They said there is widespread damage but people are beginning to come out and walk around (saw people out taking pics and I SWEAR one looked like Becky!) and they are very surprised at the lack of serious destruction.

Anyone else having trouble posting? I'm getting error messages and things are very slow. Maybe the amount of people is overloading the site? Then again, maybe it's me!

Don't think it's you Shammy. Probably a number of things, one of which could be this:

Not having trouble posting Shammy, or we'll see now, but soooo slow. Over 600 people on and that's because this is the best news source out there. Anybody hear anything from Steve lately. Probably down at the hotel checking things out.

Hope all in PDC can get themselves back together soon - thank God that action was taken and more people didn't lose their lives.

Any word on how they're coping at Xcaret?

Best wishes to all
