RIU Palace in 1 week
We have booked our honeymoon for the RIU Palace for the week of Oct 12th. This weather is a little disconserning, but I've read hear that internet weather sites can be misleading.
Any recent experiences at the Palace? How do room upgrades work? Any special requests I should ask for that may not be obvious? And is the filtered water really safe?? |

I found that the internet weather sites have been wrong with regards to the weather - it will say raining on the website, but it's actually sunny and beautiful. Yes the water is purified, not only at the Palace but just about everywhere you go in Playa. As it has been posted many times in this forum, that the tourist industry is the livelihood of the locals. They cannot afford to have bad press about the water or anything. I think the indication to you, if read through many of the posts, not a word is written about getting sick, or bad water in PDC.
Regarding upgrades, every room at the Palace is beautiful, you may not want an upgrade. However, if you do, you would have to request at check in and you maybe charge additionally for it. I guess depends on availability etc. You might want to check with your travel agent beforehand or go to the Riu website and send an email requesting this. www.riu.com - enjoy your stay at the Palace, you'll love it!
