Thanks to All the Wonderful Playa Peeps!!

To Shammy, James, Anna, Heather, and all the frequent contributors to this board--

We in Boston have been glued to the computer for a week, and are blown away by the Playa community's dedication and tireless efforts to help those of us who are so far away from that beautiful place. We booked our 8/28-9/5 trip to the Lindo just before Emily struck, and have been so worried about all the devastation in the area. We really feel for those who have lost so much, but we are amazed by how quickly most parts of the area are managing to bounce back. Thanks to those on the board who continue to send back reports and pictures. We will do the same when we return.

We absolutely can't wait to stick our feet in that beautiful white sand! We hope to have the chance to meet up with at least some of you during our trip.

Till then--five weeks and counting!

It's GREAT attitudes like that, and the willingness to add valuable information, that indeed make this forum the avenue it is for information (MOST of it fairly accurate)

Never having been to a pub (I don't think any of the bars I've been to would qualify), I can't compare. But, if this forum is like an international pub with a playa twist, I think I would feel right at home.

This was one of my favourites before I left England.

It's called the Royal Oak and is circa 16th century.

i've never been but its places like thet that make me say "one of these days". i really believe i will make it one of my goals when i retire.

That almost looks like a cafe with those outdoor tables! I thought pubs had to be dark and smell like beer!

Oh hi Nerak936! Nice to see a fellow "close-to-Bostonian" on the forum! We live north of Boston in Chelmsford. We have friends in Weymouth! We love the Boston area, but since discovering Playa last year, our hearts are there! Please do keep me posted on any upcoming Peep Meets! Would love to meet all nearby who share my love of Playa!

I spent five years as a teen in Watford. Town has gone to hell since, but it was kind of nice when I lived there.
