The lowest fares you'll see right now are $304 plus tax, which comes to about $402 with tax. That's what I've been grabbing. But I have seen it, on rare occasions, drop to $298 plus tax. $298, $304 - no real difference there. But the $304 fares are pretty easy to find right now, even for high season. |
Is Newark just especially expensive to fly out of? 'Cause two trips ago, we paid about $275/$300 total (with taxes) to fly with Delta out of Boston non-stop to Cancun...That would have been in July of '09...

Actually, while I have you, Shammy, can you offer any advice regarding the 'large group discount' I've seen? We have 12 people flying into Cancun out of Boston and I've talked with a rep to see what it entails...and it actually seemed that it would cost us MORE booking with the "discount" than if we just booked it normally (one airline required a $50 "hold" that wouldn't count toward tickets). Should we even bother with that at all?
