It's not really a resort, but a condo building with a nice rooftop pool. We have stayed there twice. It is in a great location. It is gated and locked. You may be able to park your car inside the fence. We thought it was really quiet. We love the view from the roof and the little pool. And it was great to be able to run down to the condo and frappe up a blender full of something and run back up to the pool. I assume that your place is going to come with free passes to Mamitas. There is good a/c and a little balcony or terrace for each unit. There is a laundry and market right next to the building. It is across the street from Zanzibar hotel.

Is there not also a resort "Las Palmas" one of the original resorts of playa, right beside Shangrila on that fabulous part of the beach (well I don't know how the beach is looking right now). If that is the resort you are talking about, it looked great on a tour I took a few years back. I wanted to stay there but it was out of my price range..... Maybe one day......

I think you mean "Las Palapas." This IS a resort and it is right next to Shangrila.
