Just wanted to say hello and thanks for all the info. I've been checking the site since the hurricane and have learned a lot about Playa! I've visited about a dozen islands in the Carribean but have never been to Mexico. I think the thoughts of Cancun has scared and kept me away. Anyway, i told my TA that I wanted to stay away from hurricanes this year and Emily hits a week later! My luck!! We'll be in Playa 8/15 to 8/22! Cant Wait!

Hi, Dougy!! Welcome!! I've been to many Caribbean islands too, but nothing compares to the beauty, friendliness, and ambiance of Playa! We doubt that we'll ever vacation anywhere else again. Why mess with perfection??!!

Saw your dates..... Check out this thread for a Peep Meet on 8/18!! Jillian (aka "Playaherewecome") is organizing a Meet at the ******, and it would be a great opportunity for you to meet some of the loonies (I say that with love) of this Forum!!

Hope to see you posting more and when you return, we'll want a full trip report on what you thought of Playa!

Welcome and enjoy your stay! And when you get home, you'll be so 'hooked' we expect to see you planning your next visit right away... Maybe something in late Feb/early Mar 2006?
