Hello all....I am New and planning a wedding at the Bahia!!!

Hello everyone,

I was hoping that someone out there could possibly fill me in on getting married at the Bahia Principe Akumal. My wedding is booked for early January 2006. I cannot wait for the day! I am so stressed out about a destination wedding. Does anyone have any tips, ideas, concerns......well anything that may help me have a successful wedding at the Bahia Principe.

Also, we have booked the Bahia Principe Akumal Golden Club Section of the resort for about 53 guests. Can anyone share some insight about the location of the villas and which ones are the best or what they are located by?? I am dying to know about the whereabouts of these rooms, as I heard that they may be very far away from everything???? Is this true?
Please help any information is greatly appreciated!!!

I can't help you at all...sorry. Just wanted to tell you to remove your email address...rather than using @...put the word "at". Otherwise you'll have junk mail coming out your ears.

BTW - good luck on your wedding!

I'm sorry I can't provide any advice due to the fact that I've only stayed at the Tulum side. However, my husband and I did honeymoon at BPT almost three years ago and had a wonderful time. I'm sure you'll have a great experience there.

Congratulations!

I stayed in the Golden Club this past April and yes, it is kind of far from some things. Where these villas are located, on the Akumal side of the resort, are right next to the fence which makes up the property line of the resort. The closest pool, the activity pool, is a short walk away. The Golden Club lobby and 24 hour snack bar are right near this pool. The main pool for the Akumal side is a little bit of a longer walk. The main lobby of the Akumal side is right behind this pool and this is where the main buffet is located as well.

5 Villas, 64 - 68, make up the Golden Club. Villa 66 us direct oceanfront. Like, if you jumped off your balcony, you'd be just about IN the ocean. The other 4 villas have excellent ocean views, with 65 and 67 being the two closest (besides 66). When you stay in the Golden Club, you have your own lobby area to check in and out, free internet service, bathrobes and slippers, baskets of toiletries. The staff in the Golden Club lobby are EXCELLENT, they will make your ala carte reservations and do just about anything to help you with whatever you need.

I just had clients with a destination wedding here and they had 70 people. Everyone had one thing or another to say (hard to please 70 people!) but all in all, they were very pleased!

We happed to see a wedding (on the beach) while we were there in June...it was at sunset...and very pretty.

Check out my pics to see some beach scenes...I thought it was a lovely resort and the staff was great.

Congrats on the wedding !!!!
