too many kids at Gala?
My husband and I are planning a trip to Playa del carmen for our anniversary. We are considering the Gala Resort, but have heard that it caters to families. Will we feel out of place without kids? How does this compare to IB Tucan? TIA

IB* Quetzal
I can only speak to IB* Quetzal (next to IB* Tucan and basically one big resort) as I've never stayed at the Gala... but we were really surprised at the number of kids that were there -- we just got back on Saturday and were there two weeks. Last year we were there earlier in September and I don't remember any kids. This year there were many but not like it was all families at the resort. They do have great kids activities though and they all were having a blast. It was a real mix staying there -- couples, singles and families. Hope that helps!

Amanda,
You might want to look at the Aventura Palace its an adults only AI. Its not right in PDC but its only about 15 minutes down the highway near Puerto Aventura. My wife and I will be staying there Nov 16-23, so if you're not going for awhile, check back here and I'll post a trip report. If you want information about the resort, just go to Yahoo and do a search on the Aventura Palace or Palace Resorts and you'll find literally hundreds of travel agency sights with information regarding the resort. We booked through FunJet and their sight is very informative www.funjetvacations.com Good Luck DJ |
