Has anyone stayed at this resort lately? I had to change to this place since they still have viva maya closed. I will be there Oct. 1st. Hear different reviews about this joint and just wanted to find out about it. Love Playa, hate Hurrancanes.

I read this a few days ago and didn't reply as I wasn't sure what you meant by "stayed at this resort lately". If you mean post hurricane, then I don't know much other than what I have read here on this site. From what Michael Holmes posted it is pretty much back to normal there. I can tell you that my wife and I have stayed here twice. The last time was this past Feb/March. We really like it there. Click here to link to my trip report. It's a pretty small place, much different than the AI's that we have stayed at. We like it better than a regular AI. We have taken their meal plan (breakfast every day, one other meal a day and all the drinks) and that worked out good for us. This allows you to explore and eat in Playa for one meal a day. I think most of the bad things you hear about Fishermans has more to do with the timeshare part of it. If your not interested just tell them that and they will leave you alone. Enjoy your stay!!!!

Thanks. This is just what i was looking for. A good review. I was moved from viva maya to the fisherman because of the hurracaine. I wanted to find out a little about this resort. Thanks again
