Blue Parrot Questions
Hi everyone,
Had a couple of questions about the Blue Parrot bar. I've been reading alot of good things about this place and am interested on checking it out when I go down in September. There's going to be 8 of us staying at the Iberostar Del Mar, and we are going to spend some days in PDC and rather then do the tourist trap Senor Frogs we'd like to try a few local bars. 1) Is there a preferential night to go to the Blue Parrot? 2) Does it fill up quickly, should we show up early? 3) During the day is there anything going on, can you spend time at the Blue Parrot beach or must you be a hotel guest? 4) Do they have live music every night or is it only on certain nights/days? Thanks in advance for the info.... |

I would start at the ferry pier and walk the beach north until I found a spot that has enough room for allof the people you have with you..someplace that where you like the music and the vibe...Blue Parrot is pricey on the drinks and yes you have to rent the chairs... I prefer places like Corte Maltes...Coco Fizz...Where the crowd is smaller the beer is cheaper and the music isnt competing with the bar next door...El Pirata is one of the favorites of many on this board although not mine.....It is right next door to the Blue Parrot!!!

The Blue Parrot was a fun night spot. The fire show started at 11 pm and lasts about an hour. Definitely check that out. While we were there, they had the fire show every night, so after the first night we made sure that we went about midnight. It doesn't get crowded until late.
We didn't hang out on the beach there. We went to Mamita's beach club and really enjoyed it. I thought it was reasonably priced, and the drinks were good. We had breakfast and hung out at the beach for a while at El Pirata, also. Their Mai-Tais were wonderful! |

Can you just see the fire show at night? Do you have to rent chairs there or do you just stand around and watch? I have never been there and I would like to see it while we are there shopping? One more ?--how late do buses run there--I need to take a bus back to our hotel in Cancun and don't want to stay too late in PDC and miss the last bus.

When last in Playa, we enjoyed a very nice, and quiet couple of hours at the Blue Parrot early one evening. It was around 7:00 p.m., and there were only a couple of other people there, we had a couple of drinks and enjoyed the sound of the waves. Oh, and we used our Playa Dear Card, so it was very reasonable!!

I'm not sure about the bus schedule, so maybe someone else will answer that one for you. Though it seemed that there were people inside the bus station no matter what time of night it was. |

Blue Parrot Confusion............HELP
I am new here and this is my first post, so please be nice..............
OK, our daughter is getting married in Nov. and the Blue Parrot is the place she picked out. I have been on so many Blue Parrot web site that I cant see good now. I must say that the B.P. official web site is really a mess to say the least!! Can someone help me out here??? ![]() What is the difference between the B.P. hotel, the B.P. Suites and the B.P. on 5th Ave.????? I cant seem to find this anywhere. Since my husband and I are in the "older" age group, we want a room that is on the quiet side at night that also has a wonderful view of the ocean. However, we DO want a large suite as we will have several other family members joining us for a couple of nights. I have found that their price depends on what site you are on.......... Anyone out there that can help me sort this mess out??????????? ![]() ![]()

If your staying at the Del Mar you won't want to leave in the evening very often. Have been there many times and the entertainment, drinks, food is awesome. After the nightly Star Friends show, head over to the disco and you'll have a blast dancing with the entertainment team. Tons to do in Playa obviously, so check it ouf for a full night and then way the pro's and cons of hanging out at the Del Mar versus spending more money in town. |
