We had a rental house, so went to one of the little grocery stores on 10th or 15th and got avocados, salsa, and fresh limes...couldn't believe how cheaply! We like Herdez salsa casera...a can to about 3 avocados, lime juice, salt, garlic to taste. Also, we found amazing homemade tortillas in those tiny grocery stores..usually sitting warm in a thermal chest. Those with a little Oaxaca cheese and salsa were grand as well. One thing we had trouble finding was tortilla chips to dip the guacamole in...we found them, but were surprised after being used to whole aisles devoted to chips in the states. I've made guacamole for years but it is never as good back home..fresher avocados make a huge difference...
