Cancelled ASP - booked Moon - Need info!

Hi guys!

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone for all the great info you've given me since we'll be going to Mexico for the first time in October. Especially Shammy, you've given me a wealth of information!!

Now I need some more info... Since Aventura Spa Palace will only be "half-opened" by the time we leave, we decided to cancel ASP and rebook with Moon Palace.

What is the Moon like?? I know their beach isnt the greatest, so we intend on visiting one of the other resorts to get some beach time in. What else is there not to miss at the Moon?

Mclorrie,

We have done the ASP for the past 3 years! And we were planning on returning this year but decided on the El Dorado Royale at the last minute. I guess someone was watching over us because I booked it a month or so before the hurricane hit.

Anyway...take a look at EDR...adults only.

Cheers

Consider The Royal Hideaway

My wife and I just returned from a week at The Royal Hideaway. This is our second visit as we were there two years ago. Pricier than other all-inclusives, the Adult Only atmosphere along with superior service is second to none.

I was there last November. If you are into it, their Spa is lovely. You can sign up for treatments in the lobby and then be shuttled over to the Spa by van. Some treatments may be included in your package.

While I did not swim in the beach, it was quite a nice place to relax with lounge chairs and palapas. There was a waiter who came onto the beach feeding us drinks as quickly as we could consume them. It is a short walk to one of the pools to cool off in the refreshing fresh water.

There is a cigar maker in the gift shop who will roll what you wish for a reasonable price. If anyone in your party smokes cigars or for a gift, stop by and see her.

My dos pesos.

As always, thanks for the info.

EDR sounds wonderful, but we were able to get Moon at no extra cost, and I figure since we're going in October; there will not be as many children since school is back in session.

Our TA told us that we can always visit ASP, which we're planning on doing. I'll probably be sad we didnt stay there, but there's always next time!

You should speak to your TA, moon palace is a cheaper resort. Not the same or more.

When we originally booked ASP we booked our parents in Moon Palace as we went there last year and found it an amazing place, at that time the Moon Palace and ASP were the same price. Our travel agent has now charged us an additional 360 pounds to change over to Moon Palace as it has risen in price since we booked in January!!
