Overlooked, in all of the craziness surrounding Wilma and her aftermath, is the steady progress of WalMart. The exterior structure is about finished, and they have already put in the reddish bricks that will surround the sidewalks around the store. Lots of folks lined up, applying for jobs, across the street from us.
Comercial Mexicana also is making progress, as the metal frame of the store is almost complete. For those who haven't been here in a while, things along Ave. 30 are going to look alot different. Man, I am looking forward to some WalMart chicken wings. |

Walmart Has A Sign!!
...and they have painted the outside of the building.
I can't wait! I haven't been this excited about a Wal-Mart since I was 18, without a driver's license, stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood and had nothing else do but cruise Wal-Mart aisles on a Friday night. Wow, did I really tell that sad story? |

It is called "Super WalMart", but from what I see, it really isn't. It's much smaller than the store in Cancun, so e.g. there's very limited bathroom and bedroom stuff. Still, you'll find some of just about everything, if not a huge selection - household, food, clothes, pharmacy, there's a photo place and a couple of other small shops at the entrance end.
