Wedding at Royal Porto Real

I was wondering if anyone has ever been married, getting married or witnessed a wedding at the Royal Porto Real Hotel or the Gran Porto Real Hotel. I am in the process of planning a March 2006 wedding and would love information from someone who has been there, done that!

We are inviting a family members and a few close friends and we liked the location of the Royal Porto (close to <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:Street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">5<SUP>th</SUP> Avenue</st1:address></st1:Street> in Playa del Carmen).

We have never traveled to this area so any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If you go to Tripadvisor.com, check out the reviews for the Royal, there are some pictures that someone took of what looked like a wedding going on at the gazebo. You may be able to contact whoever wrote the review and put the pictures up.

Not much help now, but we are considering staying at the Royal this October. I'll post my review here when we return.

I can't really give you any specifics. We did watch a wedding on the beach at GPR and it looked like every was working very hard on the preparations and it seemed to go off with out a hitch. Everything looked lovely. Ceremony, recepeion and all took place right on the beach there.
