Professional Photography at Lindo?
Hello, one thing I want to do is to have a nice family portrait taken in that beautiful setting, perhaps in late afternoon on the beach.
I know some hotels employ roving phtographers that go around taking candid shots, and with whom you can contract for something like this. Has anyone done this at the Lindo, and if not, can you recommend a good professional phtographer that might be willing to do this? Thanks in advance! Can't wait--hoping I get to meet some of you terrific people while I'm there! |

Thanks for the response, October. Having not stayed at the Lindo before, I don't know what to expect, although having photgraphers wandering around taking candid photos does seem to be part of the AI experience. I've seen it before at several AI's where we have stayed. Anwyay thanks for letting me know--I think I'll email the concierge to find out how to arrange a family portrait.
OMG am I really leaving in THREE DAYS!!!!???

Hi spiffer! We're just back from the LIndo last evening--very sad to be home!
You are going to love the Maya! As you know, it is connected to the Lindo. It's gorgeous. I will post a trip report elesewhere later. We had a wonderful time. And yes, we did have our family photos made and we are thrilled with them. As we had been instructed by the Concierge prior to our trip, we visited the photo shop and made arrangements to meet the photographer on the beach the next day at 6pm. It was a beautiful evening, she posed us for at least 25 shots, printed them overnight, and we went back to the shop in the morning and chose about ten of the best ones to keep. She did wonderful work (I wish I had gotten her name--she was quick, professional, and of the shots she took, there were only a couple that we considered bad for some reason--someone blinking, hair in the face, or the like.) She charged us nothing for the sitting (though we tipped her for her time) and the photos were $5 each. And now we have some beautiful family shots to remember that trip by. There is no way that you could have such a great photography session in the states for what we paid. Have a fantastic time on your trip. Look for my trip report in the next few days. |

All in good fun, my good Bostonian friend!
Who is living in wonderful Boston during autumn! While we swelter in humidity and low 90's in Central Texas! We've only been to Boston once and it was in September and it is one of our favorite places... |

OK, I'll remind you how "beautiful" Boston is when we're trudging through blizzards and your lovely Texas is still enjoying nice warm weather. Deal? :p
Seriously, we met lots of great people from Texas down there! Hope you have a blast and come back with lots of stories to share. |
