Hi

Has anyone returned from Grand Xcaret after they opened on Aug 5th.
Has the beach club re-opened? Has the lobby roof been patched etc.

any inputs please. We are going for Sep 1st week.

Sorry, I was there but it was back in April. Best to call Occidental direct.

Perhaps you will get a hit here. Your thread will likely be moved to the All-Inclusive forum/board though. For general info and a trip report posted in April, go to that forum and do a search on Grand Xcaret.

Try the Trip Advisor PDC forum too.

I did check tripadvisor and found some reviews from hotel side. thanks. also a couple of people did come back from Xcaret last week. Looks like beach club is yet to open and lobby work is still in progress including swim up bar.

lobby and beach club is offered I beleive in alternate locations. We dont drink so not worried abt swim up bar but I would like for beach club to be open. hopefully it will be done soon. I leave in 7 days!!!

I have also been wondering about the condition of the resort and if any progress has been made. I seem to find the same stuff you do at trip advisor. we are heading there on oct 5. so any info you could bring back would be great. it's my theory tho, that since those MTV latin video awards are going to be at the park, that they would be working very hard to get everything ready at the resort as well.... have a great time on your vacation.

And for the most part...TA has the potential to be... poppycock.

PLENTY of other truer sources of info if you dig - TA seems to be - at times - a repository for reviews from non-existent "guests" with an ulterior motive...not always - but enough for me to avoid the TA site. I've stayed at too many places with RABIDLY critical reviews from TA and I'm wondering " WHERE did that come from?"
