What is your "Favorite thing to Do" after check in???

My husband and I will be at the Palladium for 5 days starting next Wednesday. One of the things I told him I wanted to do after check in, change into my bathing suit, and head to the beach bar for tacos and a nice tropical drink. (it will around lunch time when we arrive). Afterwards, find a nice spot on the beach and exhale. Take in the view and relax. After that, explore the resort.
My plan B is to take a shower and nap for 45 minutes. I prefer the tacos and drink

What are some of your "favorite things to do" after you check in?? Is there one particular thing you do to officially jumpstart your vacation????

The three times David and I stayed at the IB Tucan/Quetzal, we immediately went to the lobby bar and ordered up a couple of "Mexican Flag" shooters.

We began a new tradition last February for our non-AI stays (which they will be from now on): Head straight to El Oasis and order up a few shrimp tacos and some wonderful margaritas. Can't wait to do it again in 186 days!!

Ok, I will be the naughty chica here...a vacation isn't off to a good start until you "check out the bed" right when you get to your room

Hitting 5th Avenue has got to be on the list somewhere, perhaps later that afternoon/evening. Oh, do I crave a trip down there right now!!!

Excellent question for a thread, I might add. Have fun.

We always get changed into swim suits and head to the beach, get a bite to eat in a nice spot and order a drink! One year I drank tooo much on the way to the hotel and wanted to take alittle nap! My hubby flipped, said "we did not come all this way to stay in the room, were going to the beach and you can pass out there!" Well we did, and I did, and it was the best nap I have ever had. I woke up ready to explore!

Our first stop will be El Oasis too...shrimp tacos are to die for...still craving them and can't wait to eat there next February. Just watch out for the hot sauce. :p

When we have stayed at an AI as soon as we finished checking in we would change into our bathing suits and hit the bar to fill up our cups and then hit the beach. But like Karen said earlier, we are not doing the AI next February and are staying in town and our first stop will be shrimp tacos.
