Aventura Spa Palace Activities
We're honeymooning at ASP from 10/23 - 10/28. I hear that the resort will be half open by then, but I'm looking for more information on what activities will be available to guests in October 2005.
Will we be able to kayak and/or snorkel in the lagoon? Are bikes abvailable to rent? Is it possible to ride from ASP to Playa? Thanks -Joe |

You should be able to kayak in the lagoon unless the kayak's were destroyed in the hurricane (just kidding, although one picture of ASP post Emily shows a kayak overturned at the edge of the lagoon) and you also can snorkle but do it early in the morning as it becomes cloudy later in the day. No bikes, they used to have them and a bike path to Puerto Aventuras to the marina and town area but no more. You will have to take the shuttle bus or taxi to PDC. We rode the bus in the morning and then took a taxi back that afternoon - around $6.50.

We're going the first week of December. This is the only info I found on the website. No info about activities or the spa. http://www.palaceresorts.com/OperationalUpdates.asp

Thanks
Thanks 4myjoy for the info on the activities. This no bikes thing is a disappointment to me. I was looking forward to cruising around a bit. Especially since their website shows bicycles are available http://www.palaceresorts.com/Resorts...Activities.asp
I found this link too MelissaAK, I wished it provided more information though. And Rob1, thank you for the link. That page took forever to load, and I'm on a great connection at work. |

Hey Webguy..I may have to recant about the bike situation at Aventura. My friend down there tells me the bikes may still be there but the bike path to Puerto Aventuras is gone. I have not personally seen the bikes in a long time but they may still be available.

I'm running a bit scared about Adventura myself
Fiancee and I are heading there October 5th-15th, 4 days after it is due to open. We are scheduled to be married on the 10th, I know they bumped the ceremony itself from Adventura to Moon, they said based upon damage to the wedding pavillion. I will try to update with information/pictures from the hotel once we are down there, anyone know if internet is available (prefer wireless), I'll be bringing my laptop. |

I red'd an email today from my rep at Palace he said that it looks like the first half of ASP will be ready earlier than expected more like the end of Sept. then the crews will all begin work on the south side and he thinks it will be all done by first of Nov. We are going Nov 6 and he says we won't even know anything has been going on by then. Yeah right, I'm not so sure I believe that though.

Email addy needed for ASP
I'm looking to contact someone/anyone that works at the ASP. Does anyone have contacts at the ASP or an email addy for me to use?
If you're in the area, can you dial 984-875-1100 (aventura spa palace) and get me an email addy of someone there. Thank you, - Joe |

For future reference guys, please don't post someone's e mail address online without amending it as I did above, using "at" and "dot" in place of the actual symbols. Or, just send the information in a PM.
It leaves the unsuspecting person open to spam and that's not a very nice thing to have clutter up your inbox! Gracias! |

Oh, the best one I've seen in a long time, that I got just last night: From my good friend (NOT! ) Natasha Clayton..."Small Pen-is?" I guess the hyphen was supposed to help avoid my spam blocker (it didn't!)? Oh, and I'd also like to publically mention that I don't HAVE a "Pen-is" so I don't care if it's small or not! But back on track...we can't assume they do have a good spam blocker, or ANY spam blocker for that matter...so in order to preserve privacy, it's just better not to post any e mail address the proper way without someone's permission. And even with a business e mail address (like mine), there's still a human at the end who has to check the e mails. Not a prob though...just a reminder for next time. ![]() |
