Headin to Playa, looking for new Peeps!

Hi all!

Ive been checking out this board for a few days now and thought i would join in!

I am heading to playa sept 1 to sept 5. Going solo and would love to meet up with some new peeps. I do alot of solo traveling (europe, canada, costa), my friends are always lame and cant commit. Any tips on what is hapenning would be great.

I will be staying at the hotel quinto sol, its off 5th street. Ive never stayed there before but it looks nice online (everything is true on the internet!). Any info on the place?

Ive been to playa once before (2001) but stayed in an all inclusive with my gfriend at the time, never do that again. I have friends that own a house on and i try go to every year.

How has the weather been? looks like allot of rain on weather.com but you can never really trust that.

anyway cant wait to get down there, i am in serious need of a hammok and a few cold beers.

Have a great time. I think there's always someone from this board in Playa at all times. Like the man said, go by Beer Bucket or Tequila Barrell and there's a Peep there somewhere. Check out the General Off-Topic forum for Peep Fest and other assorted "fests"

I'll be heading down there arriving 2 Sep and leaving on the 6th. I'll be staying at the Playa Maya and will be doing some diving in Cozumel during the day. Quinto Sol is very nice adn reasonably priced. It's not on the beach, but it's not too far of a walk. I like staying right smack on the beach...Anyway, let me know if you want to meet up for a beer. I like La Ranita on 10th near 5th Ave. It's a pretty good local hangout and the moderator of this board actually owns/runs the place. At least they did last time I checked.

I don't believe any of the moderators owns or has ever owned La Ranita.....Although they do hang out there.

I hear the playa maya is sweet, it was recommended to me after i had already booked the quinto. Ill have to check it out next time i am down. Name a time a la ranita and ill be sure to stop by!

La Ranitas is directly across from The Beer Bucket so if you guys are over there,come on across the street and we will all be at the Bucket as sctx said on the 3rd and 4th.We usaually show up around 8 or 9 pm.

So, are you guys getting any beach time at all?

I am supposed to go on an atv tour sat, will the rain affect those?

He was being sarcastic, fun guy. If it does rain, it won't be for long. NEVER pay attention to weather.com, they are rarely accurate. You will have plently of fun in the sun, beach time and your atv tour will be great. No worries!
