My son the acting star!
Okay, that's a bit optimistic, but I'm excited for him and had to share!
Jorden has always been a unique kid, and very capable of being quite a jokester and performer. For a couple years his dance instructor has told us we should really get him into movies, as he always wants to be the center of attention on stage. Well the movie industry here in Vancouver has really kicked off, and they are filming a LOT of commercials, TV series and feature films here these days. So I took Jorden to a very prestigious (read: expensive! ) acting camp last week where he spent the week learning about reading scenes for TV and movies. On the last day, he read two scenes for all the parents as well as four or five agents that came to watch.Within two days, I had a call from TWO agents that want to put him on their roster! And it's not exactly EASY to get an agent up here, because of the volume of people trying to get into the industry. Generally you have to canvass quite a few agencies with photos, resumes, and read scenes for them before they'll consider taking you on. So to be offered by TWO without even sending in headshots is really exciting! They both seem very positive about Jorden's abilities (and looks!) and so he is going to get his headshots done next week, and we'll see where it takes him. Jorden loves to perform, both acting, dancing (hip-hop) and singing, so this has really pumped up his ego. We think that's great, because he doesn't get a lot of self-esteem pumping in other areas, such as sports. Because of his heart he's slower than the other kids and has less stamina, so his friends tend to "run circles" around him in hockey, soccer, etc. and that gets to a kids self-esteem at his young age. To see how proud he is of himself after the class and meeting with the agents, it makes us so happy! Anyway, just had to share! Of course, I'm biased, but how could anybody resist this cuteness....

Then I scroll down and read your post. Good luck with your movie star Ginger. Hopefully there will not be a special on E! network about him in 20 years ("Child Actors Gone Bad").

Way to go!!! Ginger I think its great that Jorden is into the performing arts. I was dancer starting at the age of 6. Starting so young and lots of hardwork paid off, I got a full dance scholarship to ASU. Keep up the hardwork Jorden

Ginger, that is so exciting. Ryan got to be in two local commercials (PSA's) when he was in 1st grade. "Back to school safety" and "diversity" were the two messages. They were such little spots, but it was fun to see him on TV. Even just in little ole Tulsa, Oklahoma!
Have fun with it!!

Congrats Jorden! That's really great news, Ginger. It's so exciting when kids find something that they are passionate about and good at! I agree that it will be a great source of self-esteem for him. And though I've never gotten to meet Jorden in person, I think his personality shows through in all your pictures, which is probably exactly what they are looking for! Congrats again!
