No, no! Now don't you go trying to stir up something! Honestly, I don't know who Peter is, had never seen his avatar, looked at it out of interest, noted that it indicates him as a moderator, and then I was really surprised because you'd think by now I'd know the moderators! So when I saw that it also said just 12 posts, well I thought maybe I was looking at a new member of the Playa.Info team, or something, and just didn't know it yet.
Just looking for clarification! Steve |

Yes, that's correct Peter is a moderator for the Pueblo Sacbe Forum. Not all moderators have access to all forums. And you can't move a thread if you're not a moderator of the forum where the thread you'd like to move is located. You can see what moderators have access to what forums by viewing the Forum Leaders page. I'm going to go ahead and move this thread to the Off Topic Forum.

I was about to say after Mark's initial comment that some people have made similar comments from time to time to the effect that I'm a moderator or listed as a moderator or whatever. I thought they must be mistaken and that James had just flipped some switch quite some time ago so that I could post new threads on the News forum. So then I should have been able to move that thread, too, I guess. I can assure you that I didn't know I had such a capacity (or I would have done it in such an obvious case instead of just talking and doing nothing), and that I surely don't know how I would "moderate" someone if the need arose! Now why does that last bit leave me thinking of McKinzie...? Steve |

HA! ROFLMAO!
Nice finish on each of those previous posts, there. Insert witty proverb here... Uh, yeah, so anyway, once I got a budget flight into Amsterdam on Iceland Air! (cue the Icelanders' segue...) [snickering like the dog in the The Great Race cartoons] Steve |

I'm feeling sorry for Peter...
I don't know any agents in Playa-but I used to be a travel agent in another life (10 years ago). I do know that they don't get commission for booking airlines at least here in the states, so many TAs here charge a fee just to look for you ($20.00USD or higher). There are NO good online sites to check leaving from CUN Mexico...EDIT: That I can read anyway:-)...See Clau's post next page... If you fly Iceland Air, you will need to book a RT ticket to one of the major cities in the states (BWI, BOS, JFK, MSP, ORL)and then from there take Iceland Air (IA) from the US to Iceland. There are some good fares from those cities to Iceland. http://www.icelandair.com/main/view.jsp?branch=5393337 My guess is that if you can also find inexpensive fares to Europe from CUN, you can get to Iceland from there, by booking two RT fares (one on IA from a major EU city). Give yourself 3-5 hours between flights. Another thought is that you go to Belize or similar and then take a flight to Europe from there. I will also assume that either you are a Mexican citizen or a citizen of Iceland. Either way, make sure that if you book the way I decribed above, that you have the proper visas for each place that you land. Also be aware that you will go through customs if you land here in the US before going on to Iceland-both times. That is why I suggest 3-5 hours between flights. Carry-on baggage is the way to go too. That way you don't need to wait for luggage at each stop. I hope this helps...? ![]() Last edited by BonnyW : 08-27-2005 at 08:12 PM. |
