It is about 50-60 usd if you find a private taxi in Playa you can arrange a ride for half that amount. They are very good and reliable

As an FYI,

I pre-booked a Private car for $72.00 USD.

This includes airport pickup and airport return. If anyone is interested, please PM and I'll give you the contact info of the local company.

Cheers
Rob.

The travel companies schedule your van/bus back like three hours before your flight leaves. So I always walk out of the ai with two free drinks in my hands one hour before flight time and jump in a cab.

Where in the heck is your AI located that you can jump in a cab only an hour before flight time? At the airport?? For those of you staying in or around Playa, this is definitely not recommended. Planning your time here is difficult enough without this sort of risky behavior.

I have to agree with Heather. International flight check in is TWO HOURS before departure...period. If you don't check in, they can give your seat away of they choose to do so. While they normally don't (unless the flight is really overbooked), why take a chance like this? Add that two hours to the time it takes to get from your hotel to the airport, and 3 hours before flight time is about the bare minimum the transfer companies will schedule you for pick up. And don't forget, if you're going with a tour operator transfer service, they will make stops at other hotels to pick up other passengers, thus adding MORE time on, possibly even another hour depending on where your hotel is located.

You can at least avoid the multiple stops to pick up others by booking a private transfer such as the one offered by this site.
