Nerak Fundraiser Has Been Redirected to American Red Cross

In light of recent events, I have decided to redirect the remainder of the fundraiser to the American Red Cross.

All Nerak orders received up until today will still be sent to Angel Notion as promised (click here for specifics), but for the remainder of this fundraiser (until September 30th or until $500 is raised), I will be sending the 50% of each Nerak order (plus whatever extra peeps choose to include in their payments) to the American Red Cross.

My prayers are with all of you, and especially with those affected by this horrible catastrophe.

I grew up seeing Mom pay the weekly bills and many times hearing her holler over to Dad in the other room, "Do you mind if I send $25 to Project Bread??" (or whatever charity had solicited a donation that week) to which the Dad's response was always "Sure. Go ahead." As a kid, I remember asking her "Why do you give your money away like that?" Her reply was something along the lines of "Because we're so lucky to have all that we have."

"Lucky"?? Maybe a little lucky, but they also busted their backs for every penny they had. In the process, they taught me a good lesson which I try to practice as often as I can. I was blessed to have had such good "teachers".

I'm sure your heart is just as big, Linda. And as the hearts of many others here in the Playa.Info Forum.

This is a fantastic idea...may have to order some more beads.

Zoomba will look like Mr. T with tons of beads.

He used to be a regular donor to the Red Cross...but since our recent visit to Playa they won't let him give anymore.

Effective immediately and continuing until the end of September, I will be donating 50% of the total cost (including postage) of each Nerak item to the American Red Cross. As already stated in this thread's initial post, this fundraiser started out as a fundraiser for Angel Notion in PDC to benefit the victims of Hurricane Emily. As a result of Hurricane Katrina's devastation of the Gulf states, I am redirecting the remainder of this fundraiser to the American Red Cross ("ARC").

Since $286.02 (adjusted for funds which were originally earmarked for Angel Notion but which by forum member request have been redirected to the ARC) has been raised from the $500 (or until 9/30/05) goal, $213.98 remains to be raised for the ARC.

Effective immediately, the funds raised (50% of each order til 9/30 or until $213.98 is raised to reach combined goal of $500) will be sent to the American Red Cross. Thank you.
