anecdote.....i met three american guys in pdc........when telling them about my language, they all bragged about knowing their names in spanish......
John told me his teacher had taught him that in Spain he would be called JUAN.......excellent...so far! then, Harold proudly said he knew that his name in spanish was Juan. Simultaneously, showing off, Drake said HIS name was Juan............ imagine their faces!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my question here is: WHO HERE KNOWS THEIR NAME IN SPANISH???????? and where are those teachers getting their diplomas from???????? haha |

My husband is Juan (john). I don't think there is a Spanish translation for every name, just the ones that originate.
Eg: Carlos = Charles Maria = Mary Marta = Martha Alberto = Albert Eduardo = Edward Jose = Joseph Jorge = George Miguel = Michael Pedro = Peter Ricardo = Richard Alejandra = Alexandra Blanca = Blanche Juanita = Joan Lucia or Luz = Lucy Raquel = Rachel Rosa = Rose I don't think there's any translation for me (Leasa) or my kids (Jorden, Kelsey) as our names are either not in original form (Leasa or Lisa derives from Elizabeth) or come from original surnames (Kelsey) or places, rivers (Jorden or Jordan) That's my dos pesos, for what it's worth! BTW, nati, you are gorgeous! What do they put in the water in your country anyway?!
