Satellite TV

Does anyone know someone that can install and/or repair satellite tv? Mine has not worked since Hurricane Emily and I'm not sure if the dish has just moved from the winds or if something is broken. Thank you!

and you've tried the search function on this forum? this has been discussed, I'm quite sure.

short answer: there are dish agents all over town. they are really hard to miss. they all do install work.

you probably just need the thing pointed again. any dish installer should be able to do it. while it may seem easy, it can be quite tricky to do on your own without the proper tools.

James, not to be disrespectful, but you make this sound so simple. It is not. Not all dish installers know all the systems, and it is not always as simple as "just needing the thing pointed again", and then getting someone who actaully does know how to take care of the problem to show up is a whole other situation.

Zookeeper, you are not in that boat alone!!

And yes, it has been discussed several times.

Yours is not running? Do you want me to stop at Cesar's office and make a request on your behalf? I'll be in town next week.

But it IS simple. I've pointed them myself many times.

As far as expectation management is concerned... well, that's a whole other ballgame but certainly not specific to the topic. All expectations must be managed in Mexico.

Its quite easy to re-position your dish, all you need is a portable tv and a long ariel extension ... just plug the lead into the satellite reciever and take the portable outside where you can see the picture while you move the dish, ive done it many times and saved a fortune

Way to make the newbie feel really welcome!!. Now, is it quite tricky or really simple to repoint the dish? I am confused!! You state both.

I said it is tricky without the proper tools. Since I have them (or did), I found it simple. The people that I helped didn't have the tools, so they found it tricky. Still confused?

I had someone that originally installed my dish - he was very good and spoke English! However, I have not been able to get him to come back. I was hoping someone knew somebody that was reliable.

In most instances if you have the right tools it can be easy. If something odd has happened or you don't have that meter or portable TV to take up to the dish with you then it could be confusing.

Kris, do you have a problem with your dish in Mexico?

So mfl*s queen was correct in regards to helping zookeeper.
zookeeper doesn't have the correct tools & can't simply go out
& repoint the dish. So why all the other B.S.?? Unless, since you
can do it so easily, like a true gentleman, you will go help zookeeper
out.

James is a true gentlemen, but a very very very busy one.

Here is another recent thread.

http://playadelcarmeninfo.com/playa-...ad.php?t=16450

I'll be in town next week and I do have Cesar's cell phone number. I can't guarantee results but if I run into the right people.......perhaps maybe.
