Iberostar Quetzal?
Probably spelled it wrong. I usually stay at the Viva Maya, but the hurricane hit after I booked for Sept 24, and the Viva won't be open till Oct-Nov. So I switched to the IBS Quetzal. Anyone been there? Please tell me they have a decent swim up bar.

Haven't been there yet Slayer, but will be 9/24 - 10/1. They do have a swim up bar; decent? to be determined

Nooo, Tappy has never been there...yet!
Maybe someday, but not yet. Nerak however, has been there a few times so look for one of her trip reports for even more info. The Tucan/Quetzal has a very nice swim up bar and it's in the ADULTS ONLY pool (or is supposed to be...if you see kiddies there, feel free to kick um out! :p ) I will also tell you that this resort is much nicer than the Viva Maya. Nicer beach, nicer grounds, nicer rooms and MUCH better food (most people's opnion anyway). This hotel switch is for the better. |

Yup, they have an adult only swim-up bar. And besides that the place is excellent!

Here's the link to my trip report further down the list...the Iberostar Tucan is the same resort as the Quetzal. The adults only bar was really hoppin' while we were there...it got progressively louder as the day went on!!
http://playadelcarmeninfo.com/playa-...ad.php?t=16733 You'll love it there! Great service and beautiful grounds and beach. |
