Xpu-ha

You can see pictures I took in June 06 here. It should give you and idea of the "wall."

2008 update on Xpu-Ha?

Hi,

I've browsed the Xpu-Ha Palace posts here and wonder if the property has improved since those walled and rocky beach pictures? We're thinking of a week there in late July but wonder if the beach is nice or if land loss and storms have made for a disappointing resort?

Also, can anyone tell me about the restaurants there? How's the food?

Thanks!

I can't comment on whether the fences are still up.. I have heard mixed reports on the current status of the land dispute and what is occuring on the old part of the property. But for now you can expect the beach to look much like it does in the pictures.. The Xpu-Ha used to have a beautiful beach and a great lagoon for snorkeling in. Both are gone as they are no longer part of the current property. Take a look at this other thread and check out the old and new property maps posted by Shammy.

They will give you an idea of the size of the beach you can expect. The place still gets some decent reviews but if you are after a great beach you might want to have a look around..
