Happy New Year Snappy.

Also FYI: We purchased two TelCels Amigo plan and noted they are for our family and we rec'd 2 phones for approx 24.00 and we rec'd 300 pesos credit on each phone, the plan the nice fellow at TelCel in Centro Maya also included free calls between our two phones and free texting between the two phones as well.

I went to ensure our phones were registered prior to the new phone laws and they said yes they are, I was then away for up to 6 months. I returned to the Centro Maya TelCel Store and the phones were put in limbo as no use for over 3 months, but I followed the directions of the teller and put 200 pesos on each phone and went back to his seat ( where he waited for me until I had put pesos on the phones) he then re installed them and put the lost or expired pesos back onto the phones. I left with two perfectly great and useful phones. We have been using these phones now for 3 years, when family or friends head to the Playa area we ask that they take our phones and use them to keep in touch relatively inexpensively as we all have wandering teenagers or golfing hubbies to keep track of. It has been a really positive experience for us and the prices for calls to and from Mex/Canada are expensive even if Rogers is a partner to TelMex.

Our phones are very plain with no bells or whistles, but they have the ability to either communicate in english or spanish. My sons is in spanish and mine is english. We love them.
