Any Skype users on the forum?

I have been using Skype for a couple of years now....Just saw where Ebay is trying to buy the Swedish Company for 4.1 BILLION dollars.....Was wondering If anyone else is using it because its a free service....I also use Skype out so I can call Land lines and Cell phones....Ten bucks gets you one hundred and twenty minutes....Made a few calls from Mexico back home and it works perfectly....Anyway just wondering If there is anyone else out there using it....One thing that it could be used for is tech support on the forum for uploading pics, resizing pics, etc....Imagine calling someone and being able to talk while you are on the forum learning how to do the things that drive us crazy sometimes....Just a thought.

Another thought: MSN Messenger 7.5.
If you're both online anyway, that is. It's a matter of exchanging e-mail addresses and then (on MSN Messenger) you have the opportinity to talk (audio) and/or video for free.

Mikey, I used it once when a coworker of mine was in Japan and we just wanted to chat a little bit at the weekend. Worked fine and it saved us a lot of money.

Yes I think its the most cost effective voip program out there.....Cant beat free....I think it cost me three cents a minute to call home from Mexico calling people on their phones instead of the computer....Just dont understand why everyone does not have it....The phone companys here are fighting it because it will take so much money away from them but its the future for sure....

I didn't know about Skype until my co-worker told me about it. As he travels a lot he has it on his laptop. As we both had Skype open we didn't pay anything for the call. When proud aunt Andrea afterwards wanted to impress her 14 year old nephew by telling him about Skype he just looked at me and said in a very bored voice 'I use it all the time.' He's on it for hours.

Yes, it's a good way to make cheap calls especially if someone else is REALLY far away.

Yeah, eBay's been hyping Skype on their home page for the last week or two. I've been using Packet8 VOIP service now for almost a year. Ditched the traditional landline at the house. $20 USD/month for unlimited calling to the USA and Canada... plus all calls to other Packet8 users are free regardless of location in the world. Whenever I talk to James or Anna, the reception is better than the old landline... sounds like they're in the same town not in another country.

I used Skype a few times a day/ nite.
Spoke for free to my fiance' in Holland (before we broke up).

It worked fine unless I was surfing the net at the same time.

I use it all the time, within Canada, US, Mexico and Hong Kong. The only time I had problems logging on was New Year's Day but aside from that, I love it!

i love skype!!!!!i talk to my daughter in japan all the time for freeeeeeeee..we just e-mail and set up a time to talk....i could not believe it was free!!!!

it makes her being so far away alot easier...

Using skype and loving it. Mainly to talk to Nessie- but also to other friends around the world. Only problem is that I am not always available- as offline- and due to time zones it sometimes gets hard to catch each other.
