My accounts hosed too. When I try to register I never get an email message back. I will be Beer_dude until my account get's fixed.

as has been posted, you should sign-up with your original name. not signing up with your original mail causes me extra work.

I tried that and it appeared to work ok but I never got an email confirm registration. Sorry to cause extra work.

I know this is a headache for you. The beer_dude account I setup with a different email address. The original address for cerveza_dude is on comcast.net. If you want, I can pm you my email address.

check your filtered inboxes for the mail, otherwise request it be sent again. unfortunately joining under a different name, with a different email address is not a path towards recovery of your account.

Hmmmm!!! Nope, that's not it! The problem definitely does not exist between the keyboard and chair.

Have you used exactly the same Capitals, lower case, spaces and hyphens?

That might be it.

Actually, I am able to get logged into playa.info with my cerveza_dude account but am not able to post/reply in the forum. I will be patient and wait for Jaimes to perform his magic. Thanks for the suggestions.

nope. that's not it.

users are "awaiting confirmation" until they follow the link in the confirmation email they are sent. until then, they have no rights to post. sometimes that confirmation email ends up in "bulk" or "spam" for some ISPs. if anyone ever needs one of those resent, just send me a PM, and check your inbox carefully.

my request to "corrupted account holding users" to create a new, same-named account is merely for continuity's sake. your new account name has zero to do with your old one until I run some database queries and set your old posts userid to your new userid. my request that you sign up with the same email address is for security sake, so that I may validate your identity. without that check, anyone could try to "become" one of the unfortunate corrupted users.

Glad to know you go your PM's restored..was wondering about that...good news for the day.

BTW how did you get so lucky to have your stuff restored so fast?

One question for James...do all the posts I have made since the crash count? I know I was Anejo with around 1700 some posts...do my 100 new posts get added to my old post count? Yeah I am picky...I know...and I am too curious for my own good...but it never hurts to ask...whatever... you still rock James...thanks again for all your hard work...now get me my PM's and count back okay.

Again, Thanks James for all of your help in uncorrupting the many corrupted Peeps - in more ways then one. Have followed your instructions and apparently am almost there BUT not whining much, any chance of restoring our file?

I tried that and it didn't work the way I thought it would. Could somebody please KICK me in the @$$!

James, is there some way you could delete this MaripositaII chick so I could get back the original Mariposita? I used the same email address for both and now it thinks it's for this second chick
