It was amazingly time consuming to code that thing, the backend scheduling system, and the interface to the PayPal IPN and our helpdesk system. I'm glad we have it now, though.

I have alot of little details I *should* add, but we'll see.

I created alot of flexibility to it so we can have a special events calendar too that shows, say, BFE, special Holiday tours and events, etc.

Well, I'd have to say that it was worth the extra effort. Thing it adds a lot of value to the site and in the long run should make it more efficient on the backend as well.

Now, speaking of special events calendars... how about creating this year's holiday calendar. I'd do it for ya if'n I knew how or if'n I had access to it (unless of course, I already have those powers and just don't know it?)

I've been totally wrapped up in coding the system.

Next step is to add the events to finish out the year and the coming holiday season. When we used to just post the tours and take bookings via a simple form, we didn't bother with much of a planning horizon. With this system, we can flesh out tours for the coming months which is better for everyone.

The girls are putting them together today which means we should have them up maņana.

I've got some other homework to get to... including designing some long-over-due www.Playa.info t-shirts.

Cool!
Do you take pre-orders?

Don't worry James. You're doing good (IMHO). It's all a matter of priorities, I suppose.

Hi, we had to cancel our trip b/c of Wilma I had signed us up for 2 tours, Nov 1 & 3 for two people. I have emailed my contact for the tour to let her know, but have not heard back and realize folks down there have other things on their minds. Could you advise who is the best person to contact at this point, so that the tour knows we are not coming and we are able to get a refund?

Thank you.

This is my first chance to get online, at an internet cafe. Do not worry, we will answer all emails and take care of your cancellations as soon as we can. Thanks for your patience.

My advice to everyone is not to cancel your trip entirely, unless of course your plane is cancelled or your hotel in bad shape. What a beautiful day in Playa it was, too. I just went down to the beach, itīs clean and beautiful. 5th is in very good shape, nearly back to normal. Had some shrimp tacos at El Oasis and a cold diet coke. Life is good!

Heather - Glad you're back. We are still planning on coming if the airlines are flying. I'm think the peep meet should be one heck of a celebration!

Our plane was cancelled and our hotel has not been heard from. Much as we'd love to go to Playa it just won't happen this time. We have rebooked and found a last-minute AI at Montego Bay. We will be back to Playa sometime soon, though! Even my friend Sue who has never been there has enjoyed this forum so much (as a lurker) she feels part of the gang.
For any Peeps near Ottawa, toward the end of November we are having a Parrothead Party (says another friend -- in need of a theme!) so any Peeps/parrotheads/both should PM me for an invitation.

To any of you newbies out there who are coming to Playa soon (to which I say "Yeah!!! Good for you!!!"), take note that as far as the Playa.Info tours go, I'm 110% positive that whatever they still have going on with their tours (post-Wilma) will be 110% GREAT. If there are any changes/substitutions to tour plans due to any havoc that Wilma wreaked, I'm sure you'll be: #1 - notified of such changes, and #2 - 110% satisfied with whatever changes/substitutions they may have to make.

NOTE: I don't mean to imply to that I KNOW of any changes to their tours. I'm just saying that if they need to make them, they'll be comparable in excitement, value, and FUN!!

So don't hesitate to book with them. They really know their stuff.

(and no, I'm not getting any kickback for this post...... I just know quality when I see it!)
