New Tequila for Nashville, Chicago and Miami Peeps
In today's Tennessean...
Nashville test-market for 'diamond' tequila There's always room on the top shelf for new spirits, which is good news for tequila drinkers in Nashville. Our city will join Chicago and Miami as a test market for a new premium line of tequilas called El Diamante del Cielo, Spanish for "diamond in the sky." (You can insert your own Lucy joke here.) There are three types: blanco (white, unaged), reposado (rested) and aņejo (aged). Interestingly, the company is resting and aging the tequilas well beyond the minimum requirements for their respective grades, a costly enhancement. The company behind this new 100% blue agave product is London-based Blavod Extreme, whose U.S. office is just down the road in Franklin. The tequilas will be released on Saturday and should be available locally at finer liquor stores later in the month. Suggested retail prices for the products are $44.99 for blanco, $49.99 for reposado and $59.99 for aņejo. |
