Ebay-last thing you bought?

I am new to this Ebay thing and am now bidding on an item. What is the last thing any of you have purchased? How was the transaction? Shipping? etc.
Opinions??

Thanks

I LOVE E-BAY! The last thing I purchased was a steamer for my facial business. I've purchased all kinds of things from depression glass to a huge velvet Elvis painting...yes that's right and it's a nice one too!:p

I have only had a couple of problems, the description was not accurate but both times I truly believe it was just an inexperienced seller and they refunded and took back the product without a problem. Just make sure that the seller has a few transactions under their belt and look at the feedback. Sometimes bad feedback is warranted sometimes not. Make sure you read ALL the info on the item, the sellers terms, etc...If you have questions ask, and don't start bidding unless you're completely comfortable doing so. If you don't like the seller, someone else is likely to have that same item for sell at some point.

Also I think the key to quick shipment is quick payment, I always use PayPal, they get it that day. Most of the time I get my stuff in a week-10 days tops. If insurance is offered I usually get it. It's based on what you paid for the item. And always leave feedback for your seller so that they can keep their good rep.

E-bay is addictive so have fun and warm up that cc!

I picked up a Boba Fett figure for about 10 bucks. I haven't had it muled down yet. Elsa needs it.

I've only purchased one item from Ebay. My daughter was given a Gund elephant stuffed animal and the Dr. Seuss book Horton when she was born. She was attached to that elephant from day one. Every picture of my daughter had Horton in it, we had birthday parties for Horton. Yeah, you get the idea. When my daughter was about four we were out shopping for furniture. After a long day of activities outside the house we got home and my daughter was asking where Horton was. Gone, never to be seen again.

We searched everywhere to buy a new Horton, but it just wasn't around anymore. I then started searching Ebay every so often. After about three years or so, there he was, Horton, up for bid on Ebay. Lucky for us somebody out there had an identical Gund elephant that they thought would bring in a few bucks on Ebay. For the low low price of $4.00 plus S&H we had Horton back. He now sits on shelf in my daughter's room.

That is my one and only experience with Ebay.

Thumbs up I LOVE eBAY!!

I shop almost exclusively on eBay. I've been a member since March 1998. Last items I bought were (all from the same seller):

NEW Handwoven Long Guatemalan Pants ~ 1 Pair
NEW Handwoven Guatemalan Shorts ~ 5 Pair (!)
NEW Handmade Guatemalan Sleeveless Tops with Handwoven Trim ~ 3 Tops
NEW Handwoven and Hand Embroidered Table Runner ~ GORGEOUS!

ALL items are perfect conditon, new and nice. TOTAL for ALL, INCLUDING Priority Mail Shipping: $20.34!! And I didn't even have to waste gas LOOKING for them! (IF I could have found them locally!)

I have bought items froms all over the world ~ Museum Quality vintage costumes from Bulgaria, Shawls from Egypt, Antique Urns from China ~ 100s and 100s of items. I've even had handcrafted furniture shipped from Peru and Mexico. I have only had ONE problem in all the years I've been buying. Right now I'm "watching" about 12 "new" Hawaiian shirts for Zydeco.

One of the most interesting things I bought ~ I commissioned a 3 foot by 4 foot oil painting from a guy who lives in China! He painted it from one of Zydeco's photographs taken in Hawaii that I sent to him via email. We got the painting back in about 2-1/2 weeks! It's absolutely FANTASTIC!! I requested SUPER REALISTIC, and that's exactly what I got ~ the painting LOOKS like a giant photograph! Total cost of the painting (taken off the stretcher bars) and air express shipping was US$220! Cost me about $250 to have it re-stretched and framed. I cannot even begin to imagine what it would have cost me to have this painted in the U.S. I plan on having him do another painting for me!

Hubby and I each got wetsuits off ebay.ca this past couple months.

His was a full 2 mil suit, brand new with tags still attached, cost him ten bucks plus twenty S&H.

Mine was a Body Glove 1-2 mil shortie wetsuit, tags still on, and cost me $19.99 with ten dollars S&H. (All US funds.)

Both awesome deals.

Seems like they adjust the S&H to make sure they make a profit??

Depends on who you buy from. I make it a POINT not NOT buy from "shipping gougers." They do THAT as they don't have to pay eBay's commission on shipping charges ~ just on the final price that the item went for.

I shop on Ebay all the time, I have gotten collectibles, health and beauty items, gifts, you name it. If there is something I use on a regular basis, such as hair products or something similar I order from there as I can usually get it cheaper. You do have to watch shipping, one time I ended up paying the same amount I would have in the store because I didn't pay close enough to the shipping cost. I've only had one bad experience and that was recently. I ordered some of the perfume I use and have never received. I have filed a claim with Paypal and it is in the process of being worked out. Hopefully I should receive a refund in a week or so.
Things I usually watch for when bidding are how long they have been on Ebay, feedback, shipping details and payment methods accepted. I usually try to always pay with Paypal as the item is insured through them for up to $1,000. As in the case of the perfume, I should be able to get my money back.
My brother buys and sells on Ebay and has few bad experiences.

Oh and the last item I bought was some lipstick for my Mom that she loves, but has been discontinued by Mary Kay. I have been able to get about 10 tubes for her

Ebay

I like ebay.
My last purchase was 1000 glow bracelets, 200 each of 5 colors for $41 with shipping.
I have also purchased:
Redline Monocog bike
Small MP3 players
Wireless transmitter for IPOD
Poker Chip set
Cell phone to PC cable and 1000's of ringtones CD
and lots of other stuff.

Everything I ordered was great, no problems at all on any purchase. Shipping usually happened very fast (within 1 week), except once for an item from Hong Kong (and that only took 2 weeks). Good luck.

I won a bid on a new hot tub spa a couple of weeks ago.

I have not recieved it yet but so far am pleased with the excellent communication from ebay and the manufacturer.

This is my first purchase but have bid on a couple of items in the past.

I set up Paypal first since some require or at least prefer this process for payment.

Ebay is addictive...so watch out!

Actually, there are some HUGE national companies that sell on eBay ~ Disney and Sharper Image come to mind. KNow there are more though. eBay is TRULY "The World's Marketplace."

We have purchased quite a few things too. Books, extra battery for the camera, parts for our truck, clothes, special mountain biking shoes, pedals for the bike, and the last thing I purchased I just recieved yesterday was a bikini.
Hmm...I know I am forgetting something in that list. lol
We have never had a problem at all. We have even sold a item or two in the past on here.
Good luck! And like Joanie and PB said ... watch out for the shipping and handling.

The first and the last things I bought were margarita machines (go figure) The first 6 years ago was shipped from Arlington and the second one I picked up right here in Dallas 2 months ago. I felt the need to upgrade from a one batch/flavor machine to a dual flavor machine. Seems to be working out pretty well. Mango and lime margs yummy.

Well, it was still a great deal, so who cares?

I wouldn't call ten bucks or even twenty to ship wetsuits from the US to Canada, 'gouging' really. Is it?
