Back home in dear old England .... boo hoo... got off the plane to a dark and wet day and it has rained non stop since !!! Our kitchen ceiling has fallen in and the water destroyed my laptop, so had to buy a new one, my camera decided to wipe all our playa photo`s so we were feeling a bit down.
But the good news is ive just booked to come back at the end of Oct to hopefully seal a deal on a little business in Playa (paradise) that will allow us to move over permanently sometime next year Hi again to Mike,Julie and Caroline (peep meet at the Blue Parrot) and to Tony and Cherie from the Zanzibar :p and next time we hope to meet more peeps Life is good |

If you want a good business advisor before you sign ANYTHING or hand over any CASH. Let me know, I don't want you shipwrecked!
My advisor has helped many foreigners set up in business here. He is also our accountant and speaks good English. I hope you've checked out Visas, recommendation letters, supportive letters, apostilles and all your certificates inc. marriage, past bank statements, savings accounts proof, Notary fees, set up fees and ongoing taxes etc, etc... Oh the list will go on, on and on... Trust nobody (except me of course, I don't charge or get commission ), always get a second opinion. What are you planningto do? Or is it still top secret? |

Not top secret, we are buying a small resturant on 8th called Bambu from an american couple, have seen the books for the last 3 years and they set me up with their lawyer, a nice english speaking girl who`s parents own La Fortuna, have been to the notary and she is sorting our fm3`s too and we got it for a steal (tho still half of our savings) and are signing on the 1st nov. we will be employing a couple of mexican workers who we have met and are great .
Thanks for the offer of help tho it is appreciated

You know her too !! she was fantastic and so quick ,the things she managed to do for us in less than a week would have taken months in England and a hell of a lot more money

Andy and Jen: Congrats!!!
My wife and I were *just* talking to Mindbender and others about buying a restaurant down there this week!!! We decided not to because we would have to own and operate "in abstentia." Good luck and save a table for us next time we come down - we can't wait to try it! StewartG |
