Sung by Rick Springfield, made number one in 1981. I am going to see him this weekend. He puts on a great show, a lot of enthusiasm and really plays to all of the audience, plus he's hot! Will be posting a report and pics upon my return on Sunday.

I loved and still love that song. My favorite band here in the city plays it all the time. He was definitely one of my teen crushes.

I met him once--at a Big-5 Sporting Goods Store in Encino, CA (where I was working). I was helping him try on shoes, and joking around like I normally do. Anyway, he says to me,"Do you know who I am?" And in my best dumb-blonde I say, "No. Why, am I supposed to?" Here I am thinking we went to the same school or something. He said, "Well, I work on General Hospital." And I said, "Isn't that 'on' during the day?" He said, "Why, yes." I said, "Well that explains it then... I work for a living-during the day." He laughed and then left.

Don't get me wrong I like Rick and his music, but I know that I have no idea what he is really like as a person.I hate celebs who do the "Don't you know who I am?". So if a person doesn't react to the celebrity then it's one of the following:
Yes, I know, but I don't care or I have no idea so you must not be as famous or important as you think you are.

Supposedly Rick has come down a lot from that kind of behavior, he has said it got to his head back when he was big and it didn't make him any happier. He says he has come to the realization that he ain't that big of a deal. Again, I don't know any of this for a fact these comments were said in interviews so who really knows.

Yeah, I kinda liked him back in my brief GH-watching days, but I wasn't way into him. I hafta admit, if that picture tells the truth, he looks better these days. He's not so "pretty."

(I never did like the song, though.)

Oh and I met him breifly at a signing in the cities two years ago, and I got a hug from him.

I think he was 'hot', because it didn't surprise me at the time that he was an actor, but that is kind of a 'usual thing' around here. I got the impression that he was kind of full of himself at the time, and trying to impress me (for whatever reason) but that is another 'norm' around that part of town. He was funny, we had a good time joking about stuff, but he was a little too 'cellophane' for me.

I am glad he got his head back together. One can never be happy with a big ego/head. It has to be fed with one's own delusions...Not 'my thing.'

My daughter "Jessie" uses that song as her theme song. (remeber singing Sat. nekkid girl?) Ringers on our cell phones, played loudly on her ipod and yes she knows it's about a guy. but..... and she thinks he looks hotter now than he did in"my" day.
