Favorite Horror Flicks!

With Halloween around the corner it is scary movie time.... So what are your top 5 favorite scary movies of all time? The ones I have listed are subject to change as I will be watching many of the horror movies I haven't seen over the next couple of weeks! These are in random order
1. Psycho
2. Nightmare on Elm Street
3. The Shining
4. The Exorcist
5. Texas Chainsaw Masacre

Oh man, the Exorcist scared the bejesus out of me. I went home and prayed like I've never prayed before.

For Quality...I'd have to say Nightmare on Elm street. It was wild how you couldn't tell when they were dreaming.

Scariness...a recent one. The Grudge. I don't know why, but that scared the crap out of me. For weeks it scared me to death to go anywhere in the house at night without lights on....including the bathroom in the middle of the night. I actually had to turn on the bathroom light on. I don't normally do that.

Gotta be The Shining. At least the first viewing of it anyway. And The Birds, when I saw it as a kiddo - yikes!

1. The Shining

2. The Exorcist

Both totally frightening, especially on first viewing.

1. The Exorcist (even now I still have nightmares after watching this)
2. Nightmare on Elm Street (first one ONLY)
3. Last House on the Left (saw it as a kid, may not hold up as scary now)
4. The Shining
5. The Omen

I'm not the biggest fan of scary movies, can't watch them alone, certainly. Jeez, can't touch stuff in water, can't watch scary movies. And here I was trying to portray myself as this tough Army chick. Sheesh.

I saw the Exorcist when I was in 7th grade (don't ask) and I was never the same. I felt my own bed shaking for months afterwards, and, like Playabum, I prayed a LOT.

I don't watch ANY scary movies--can't stand people jumping out at me, not in real life and not on a movie screen. It makes me cry. And how much entertainment value is there in that??

(all together now: damn, what a wuss)

I'm with you and Heather! I don't like scary movies, especially those that show women or children being stalked or hurt. I may be a wuss, but I much prefer comedies, romances, and even adventure flicks to scary movies. Give me a good raw sex scene any day. Oops, did I say that out loud? I meant watching it in a movie, of course!

Okay, confession.
I think I was an adult before I could watch the whole Wizard of Oz. I never could get past the first scene with the wicked witch.
