Shoe store on/near 5th

Can anyone recommend a shoe store on or near 5th that sells sandals?? I busted my favorite pair of black sandals in Vegas last month I would like to get a pair for our upcoming trip but the stores up here now are selling snow shoes and boots.

Don't know off the top of my head of anyplace in Playa, but have you tried an online search for your sandal? I've had amazing luck with Ebay and just plain searches for things like that. Just a thought.

Take a walk down Juarez and you'll see many of the usual (Mexican) shoe retail outlets.

Great idea, Michael, but only if her feet are a size 7 US women or less. After over a year of living here, I finally found a pair of sandals I liked that were IN MY SIZE (8.5/9 US women). The woman who sold them to me said to come back, that "We always carry big American sizes."

There is a good shoe store in Plaza Pelicanos, corner of Avenida 10 and calle 8.

Have had the same problem as Heather - lots of great, inexpensive shoes/sandals but never in sizes that will fit.
Not many summer shoes in Michigan stores this time of the year either - but I've had good luck finding sandals at sierratradingpost.com and campmor.com if you have time to order. Delivery time is not too long, and prices are usually discounted. Hope you find something !

Just a thought, Can your sandals be repaired at a shoe repair shop? It's worth a try if they are your favorite.

I bought a pair in January at a store right on 5th, kind of down at the Playacar end of things. Good selection, and they have a front window full of different styles. FWIW, I am a gringo bigfoot as well, and had no problems with many different styles to choose from in a size 12.

Thanks to all for your responses. I will try the on-line approach to see if I can't find something - I did go to wizardofshoes.com but couldn't find what I wanted (my problem is I want a pair exactly like the ones I had!!). I tried the repair route - but that isn't going to work. I have never bought shoes on-line - usually like to try them on - but there is a first time for everything. In fact, maybe I'll just buy a pair on line and then shop for a pair in Playa too! One can never have too many shoes

Mail Order Shoes

As a shoe junkie I know the spots for finding shoes. If they are a name brand shoe the place to start is www.zappos.com, next go to shoebuy.com followed by shoeline.com. If that all fails try a google on your brand, someone out there has it.

Note the three sites I mentioned all offer free shipping and are particularly quick, 3-5 days depending on distance.

For sports sandals such as bite, teva, etc. sierratradingpost.com always has good prices. I buy a lot of items... not just shoes... from sierratradingpost.com because it's hard to beat their prices anywhere else.

Fudge Brownie - Thanks for the heads up on Zappos. I found a pair of Bass sandals that were very similar to my naturalizers that broke. And of course, I found a nice pair of tan sandals as well that I couldn't live without!

Not surprising Heather, as you seem to be about a full head taller than your average native Mexican woman!

Always head and shoulders above the rest, both metaphorically AND literally!

(Let me know if you ever need some shoes shipped down from on of the thousand or so shoe stores in and around the Galleria...)

Even if i can find a pair long enough (9) US, they are usually way narrower to. I think I only bought like two pairs of sandles there which were plastic and two pairs of shoes one runner and one stilettos, the stilettos are barely big enough, and the runners i think were mens but they were blue and silver so i didn't really care......You can buy lost of plastic flip flops on 5th in american sizes though.
