Hockey and Sports Bars

I am coming down next week and would like to see the Vancouver Canucks play the Colorado Avaalanche on the 29th. Any suggestions where I can see the game (address would be great too!). My g/f will hate me for it but hey what a better way to spend a Saturday night, hopefully the sat. feed will be cbc and I get to see Don Cherry in the Playa!

Three places I usually catch games are at Bourbon St (5th & 6th), Tequila Barrel (5th & 12th) and Cabalova (5th & 20-something).

maybe you will find A hockey game, but doubtful if you find it on cbc or Grapes. And dont forget its baseball playoff time and college football. I happen to be a big hockey fan and it was great to see Ron and Don on last week.

If you can find the Nucks Avalanche game on the 29th then I'm coming to watch it. I've resigned myself to being able to barely see any Canucks games this season while I'm in Playa but maybe it comes down to befriending the right bar owner.

If you ARE able to befriend a bar owner, please make sure you post back here. I will be in Puerto Aventuras early Novermber and am very anxious to find a place to watch the 'Nucks.

If you are able to locate a bar with hockey on the tube please, please, post an update.

- hockey fan in general.
- Canucks fan specifically.

Cabalova is located on Ave 5 between Calle 26 and 28.

Okay sounds like there are enough Canucks fans going to be around in Late October/November that we should be able to convince some satellite owning bar owner to tune them in. I'll do my best and if I'm successful I'll post on this thread for you with info.

Just to finish up this thread the Tequila Barrel is definitely the place to find Canuck games here. I've seen a few already and they show Hockey Night in Canada every Saturday there though usually its not on the big screen, depending on if you ask or if there is some more popular sport like...well every other major sport heh.

Cool, that's good to know!

We just came home from the game tonight against the Senators. What a game! We got three great periods of hockey with the occasional bad ref call, a little scuffling, an overtime period, and then a shootout that we won! Yeehaw.

it's a no brainer. Go to the Tequila Barrel or Bourbon Street and they'll put the game on as long as it's available over US digital satellite.

doesn't matter that hockey isn't big in Mexico, since both places are tourist/expat bars anyway. mostly.
